Rushing
To every teacher: today I was reminded why I got into education. I got into education to inspire, to encourage, and to change lives. However in the midst of changing lives mine is often changed. Today during morning meeting we were discussing respect and things we don't like people to do. I had a friend very softly tug on my shirt and look me dead in the eyes. "Miss Pearson I don't like it when you are in a hurry. Sometimes when we hurry you don't look me in the eyes when I talk. You sometimes ignore me because we have to hurry. Sometimes I wish you didn't have to hurry." My heart broke. As a teacher there is so much stuff to do but often times it's not the "stuff" that changes their life. The change is in the moments we stop what we are doing, we pause, and we listen. So dear stressed out teacher remember that stuff you're rushing to do could be what's standing in between you and a changed life. ❤️
